About the Saginaw Community Foundation
The Saginaw Community Foundation helps enhance the quality of life for the Saginaw County community by leveraging funds, serving as a catalyst for change, providing support for nonprofits, and acting as a neutral partner and community convener. The Foundation is mission-driven to fulfill its donors wishes and enable community initiatives to come to life, now and forever.
Linking donor interests to community needs
The Saginaw Community Foundation offers a unique way to give back to your community through its permanent, yet flexible, collection of endowment funds. The principal of these funds remains intact forever, with the investment income annually invested back into the community in the form of grants and scholarships. This means your contribution is "For good. For Ever." The Foundation can help you find a fund that matches your philanthropic interests or help you establish a fund of your own.Supporting community programs and projects
Each year, the Saginaw Community Foundation infuses millions of dollars back into the Saginaw County community in the form of grantmaking. Through its multiple grant programs and funds, the Foundation supports a wide variety of programs and projects with the focus of improving the quality of life in Saginaw County's communities. Since its inception in 1984, the Foundation has granted more than $45 million to programs and projects that benefit Saginaw County residents.Helping students pursue an education
Because education is vital to the growth and future of every community, the Saginaw Community Foundation administers a variety of scholarship programs for high school, community college, undergraduate, graduate and Career and Technical Education (CTE) students. Since awarding its first $500 scholarship in 1987, the Saginaw Community Foundation has awarded more than $7 million in scholarships as of 2020. Each year, nearly 400 individuals benefit from the Foundation’s almost 600 scholarship awards to assist with the pursuit of higher education.
