June 12, 2020SAGINAW,MI–The City of Saginaw will host the upcomingNeighborhood Association Action Group meeting LIVE under the pavilion at Bliss Park, at the corner of Houghton Street and Michigan Avenue, beginning at 12:00pm on Tuesday, June 16.

The City of Saginaw is pleased to once again host a Neighborhood Association Action Group(NAAG) meeting forarearesidents. The meetings were previously canceled due toCOVID-19 restrictions. The June NAAG meeting will allow residents from area neighborhood groups to reconvene once again to learn, discuss local neighborhood issues, solve problems, and reconnectwith one another. Meeting participants are asked to wear an appropriate face covering and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

The agenda for Tuesday’s NAAG meeting will includea variety ofbeneficialtopics includingupdates from local law enforcementand the fire department, the City’s plan for reopening, and Saginaw’s “Best Kept Yard”program. Residents will also have the opportunity to ask questions of many of our departmentheads,as we will have representatives from severaldepartmentsin attendance. In addition, participants at the 
noon NAAG meetingcan treat themselves to a delicious lunch from food trucks that will be at Bliss Park for the occasion. Local favorites like Ruth's Grilled Hot Dogs, TNT Authentic Mexican, 3 Lil Pigs BBQ, and Woody's Hot Dogswill be there for residents to enjoy. The food trucks will be on site from 11:30 1:30 p.m.

John Stemple, Director of Neighborhood Services and Inspections, stressed the importance of the June NAAG meeting, “We feltthis meeting was crucial to the future of our neighborhoods. There are many serious topics that we need to discuss and goals to be established. We want citizens to know that we are here to listen to them. Everyone who attends can make a valuable contribution to their neighborhood and to the city.” Stemple hopes the meeting will also be a celebration, “We, as a community, have experienced many challenges in the past six months.The June NAAG meeting willallow our neighborhood groups to come together, while six-feet apart, and celebrate. Not only all that we’ve done, but all that we plan to do.”
