November 21, 2023– Saginaw, MI – City of Saginaw business owners and entrepreneurs are invited to attend one of the upcoming Memorial Cup Informational Meetings scheduled for Tuesday, December 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and Thursday, December 7 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers, 1315 S. Washington Avenue Room 205. The meetings will also be streamed live on the City’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/cityofsaginawmi
The informational meetings will allow local business owners and organizations to learn more about the 2024 Canadian Hockey League’s Memorial Cup Event coming to Saginaw from May 24 - June 2, 2024 at the Dow Event Center in downtown Saginaw. The 10-day CHL championship tournament is expected to bring thousands of hockey fans and spectators to the Saginaw area, and an estimated $25 million in business opportunity to the Great Lakes Bay Region.
The informational meetings scheduled for December 5 and 7 are a collaborative effort between the City of Saginaw, Saginaw DDA, STARS, Saginaw Spirit, the Small Business Development Center, Go Great Lakes Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Saginaw Economic Development Corporation. The informational sessions will update small business owners on the schedule of the 2024 Memorial Cup events, planned improvements to downtown Saginaw, enhanced transportation access during the event, opportunities for local participation, and available resources for businesses and organizations.
