Kisha Smith, Saginaw Economic Development Coordinator, commented on the importance of this trunk or treat event for local business owners, “We’re very excited to host this event again this year. This event provides our small business owners with a platform to promote their business and the chance to meet hundreds of local residents in one day. This is one more way we can connect our small business owners with the community and help local business owners ignite their business for the 2023 holiday season and into 2024.

The trunk or treat event will also feature a Kids Zone area with various kids’ games and a Touch-a-Truck area. Police and Fire vehicles will be available to sit in and explore, as well as the Fire Department’s Safety House. Representatives from City Council, Saginaw DDA, SEDC, and other local agencies will also be available to speak with the community and offer special treats like hot chocolate, cookies, cider and donuts.

Steve Hensley, Saginaw Future Community and Economic Development Director,
commented on the event, “We know there are several trunk or treat events taking place during this time, but we hope to make this event special. We wanted to host an entertaining event that celebrates our small businesses and all that we have to offer in our community. Our goal is that every resident who attends will discover a local business they want to support and promote, and our local business owners will feel a deeper connection with the community.
