The event will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, September 9. All volunteers will meet in front of City Hall for the kickoff. Volunteers will then break up into groups and head out to selected areas of the city to begin the clean up. Volunteers will return to City Hall between 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. for the wrap-up and lunch.
Mayor Brenda F. Moore, who helped plan and organize the event, stressed the importance of this new initiative scheduled for the fall, “Our spring clean up events have been very successful, building unity and pride in our neighborhoods and making a positive impact throughout our city. We want to keep that momentum going throughout the year. Let’s all do our part. Imagine what our city will become if we dedicate two or three Saturdays a year as our Team Up to Clean Up Saturdays.
I know our citizens and how much they love this city, and I know we can do it. I invite everyone to join me on Saturday, September 9 at 8 a.m. It’s just a few hours, but it will make a big difference in our community.”
We encourage everyone to join us at City Hall on September 9 as we “Team Up to Clean Up” and we thank you in advance for your help!
