On November 29, 2022, Council Member Autumn Scherzer submitted a letter of resignation for her position on City Council. Saginaw City Clerk Janet Santos reminds those interested in applying to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Council Member Scherzer, they must have their City Council Member Application and Affidavit of Eligibility filed with the City Clerk’s Office, located at 1315 South Washington Avenue, Room 102, by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022.

Applicants must be a Citizen of the United States, age 18 years or more, a resident and a registered voter in the City of Saginaw, and may not be in default to the City. Default is defined as when the City has placed an individual on notice that money is due and owing, and the individual has not entered into a payment plan with the City. Also considered a default is the failure to file yearly income tax returns or file an Income Tax Affidavit for taxable income under $1,000.00.

City Council will interview applicants at a Committee of the Whole meeting to be held Monday, December 19, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. and appoint a new member during a Single Subject Special meeting that same evening.
