City of Saginaw, Michigan

The Saginaw Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) would like to remind small business owners and food truck vendors that there is still time to register and be a part of the 2022 Small Business Expo scheduled for August 24 and 25, 2022 at Morley Plaza.

The Small Business Expo is an opportunity for local business owners to showcase their unique products and services, and it provides an opportunity to meet and connect with other local business owners from the Saginaw community. Business owners who register will have a table and two chairs reserved for their use during the event. They will also receive a t-shirt, a giveaway bag filled with items provided by the SEDC, and an invitation to the August 24 VIP event. The VIP event is from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. on August 24 at Morley Plaza. This exclusive event is an opportunity for local business owners to network with one another, gain knowledge
from other members of the business community and get fresh ideas for their business.

Kisha Smith, Saginaw Economic Development Coordinator, commented on the VIP event, “Every successful small business owner understands the importance of networking. Our VIP event on August 24 will allow the various vendors from our area to connect and gain advice and encouragement from one another. This networking opportunity can be a very important tool to take your business to the next level and gain the confidence needed for success.

Food truck vendors are also encouraged to sign up to be a part of the Expo. Food truck vendors who register will be lined up along Washington Avenue for the August 25 event so that everyone can purchase and enjoy their unique food options.

The Small Business Expo on Thursday, August 25 will be free to the public from 4 p.m to 8 p.m. The event is expected to draw over 300 residents and visitors to Morley Plaza in downtown Saginaw. “This is a celebration of small business,” said Kisha Smith. “The Small Business Expo provides our business owners with a platform to promote their product or service and meet hundreds of local residents in one day. It also allows them to connect with other passionate business owners. Our goal is to build stronger connections within our small business community and help business owners ignite their business for 2022 and beyond.”
