“Now is the time we must come together as a community to address this crime and violence. Too many lives have been lost, and we must work together to find ways to combat this evil. Thursday’s press conference will provide further information on some of the initial steps we are taking to end this violence.” – Mayor Brenda F. Moore.
Bishop Larry Camel, Pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church and Co-Chair of the ALPACT Committee, will also speak at Thursday’s press conference. “African American pastors and other leaders in the faith community must join forces to
address the conflict of crime and violence in the Saginaw community.” said Bishop Camel. “Our goal is to speak to the parents, grandparents, and other church members that can reach out to those individuals who are at the center of this violence. We need to bring peace to the Saginaw community.”
Members of the media are invited to attend the press conference. There will be time for a brief Q&A at the end of the press conference. For more information, please contact the City Manager’s Office, (989) 759-1403.
