October 14, 2020 SAGINAW, MI–Saginaw voters now have several more options for
returning their absentee ballots. The City has installed new secure ballot drop boxes
at four outdoor locations and one inside the entrance of City Hall. These are in
addition to the current ballot drop box located outside of City Hall in the west parking
lot.

Voters now have the option of returning ballots at the following new drop box
locations:

Davenport Manor                          2811 Davenport Avenue
La Union Civica Mexicana        2717 Wadsworth Road
Wanigas Credit Union                 1837 Bagley Street
Voters can use Roberts Street to access
Fordney Park–City Property   1100 Chestnut
Voters can use Gratiot Avenue to access

With 2020 being a Presidential Election year, the absentee voter participation is
setting new records. To assist voters with the timely return of their absentee ballots,
additional ballot drop boxes will provide voters with a convenient, secure, cost effective,
and 24-hour option to return their absentee ballots. The City Clerk’s Office will conduct regular collections and monitoring of the ballot drop boxes. The boxes will remain locked during non-election periods.

The City Clerk’s Office conducted an on-site location review of several locations to represent a quadrant of the City. Consideration factors given during the review include driver access, traffic flow, security and safety, and lighting of the area.

For voter convenience the City Clerk’s office has extended hours on Wednesday, October 14, 21, and 28 from 8am to 7pm. The Clerk’s office will also be open Saturday, October 24 from 10am to 2pm and Saturday, October 31 from 8am to 4pm. Citizens can visit the Clerk’s office during these extended hours to register, request a ballot, vote, and return absentee ballots.
