CITY OF SAGINAW CALL CENTER OFFERS UPDATED SERVICE
Beginning Tuesday, September 18, 2018, residents will notice new and additional options when contacting the City of Saginaw. In order to improve service levels, the City will offer citizens various methods to contact City Departments for their questions and concerns. These changes include new phone prompts that allow citizens to connect directly to a City Department, a complete online Department Phone Directory, and a new online feedback form that can be submitted to a City Department for a response.
Previously, citizens who contacted the City were connected to a Call Center employee who answered a majority of the citizen inquiries. High level concerns were forwarded on to the appropriate department for additional action. Starting September 18, 2018 when citizens call (989)399–1311, they will have the option to select a department and speak directly with a department representative.
Also beginning September 18, the City will launch its new online Citizen Request Form that will be accessible through the City’s website. Citizens will be able to submit online requests 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for a variety of concerns such as housing violations, parking enforcements, abandoned vehicles and downed traffic signals or streetlights. Once the form is submitted, it will be sent directly to the appropriate department for a response.
The City will also update the City website with a new online City Department Directory which will include a general phone number for all departments and divisions. The directory will be available under the Connect tab on the City’s website.
City Manager Tim Morales commented, "The City of Saginaw strives to provide our citizens with prompt answers and to resolve their concerns as quickly as possible. We can now provide citizens with several options to connect with the City, whether it is to call or send their inquiries via the online form. Our goal is to be available and provide a prompt, personalized response for every citizen."
