Saginaw Police - Fire Bomb/Shooting UPDATED

On July 11, 2013 at approximately 1:52 A.M. Saginaw Police patrol and Saginaw Fire Dept responded to a house that was fire bombed and shot at in the 2800 block of Capehart Dr, in the city of Saginaw. Three victims suffered burn injuries and one suffered a gunshot wound. All victims were transported to a local hospital. There were no fatalities and no one is in critical condition. The Major Crimes unit will not be releasing the names, ages, or gender of the victims. As for suspect information, we have leads that may assist in multiple arrests.

Approximately 3:00pm on July 11, 2013 Saginaw City Police, BAYANET, Michigan State Police, Tri City Post Bay City K-9, State Fugitive Team, and Michigan Department Corrections made the first arrest in the Capehart firebomb/shooting. Saginaw Police received a tip via Facebook saying that the suspect was staying at an address inside of Birch Park in the City of Saginaw. It is because of a concerned citizen and the quick response of the Major Crimes Unit that this arrest was made.

Approximately 3:45 on July 11, 2013 Michigan Department of Corrections/Saginaw Police Department made the 2nd arrest in the Capehart firebomb/shooting from last night. This suspect was located due to good police ingenuity on behalf of the Michigan Department of Corrections. In collaboration with Saginaw Police the suspect was arrested on Bagley near Webber in the city of Saginaw.

Both suspects will be lodged in the Saginaw County Jail. The collaboration of multiple agencies and the concerned support of a citizen today have helped to make Saginaw a little safer for the time being.

This is a joint investigation between Saginaw Police Detectives and the Michigan State Police. Our departments are still interviewing witnesses regarding this case and the investigation is on-going.
