City of Saginaw MI -
Halloween Trick-or-Treat Hours in the City of Saginaw

The City of Saginaw is working to make Halloween 2018 a happy, fun, and safe night for everyone in our city. The Chief of Police has determined the Trick-or-Treat hours in the City of Saginaw for October 31, 2018 will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

"We understand that with Halloween falling on a Wednesday this year it will be an extremely busy day filled with several exciting activities for children and families. With that in mind, Trick-or-Treat will begin at 6:00 p.m. on October 31 to allow everyone time to enjoy one final Halloween celebration with a little bit of daylight. Trick-or-Treat hours will end at 8:00 p.m. and trick-or-treaters are encouraged to return home at that time." -Tim Morales, City Manager

Drivers are asked to be extra aware of their surroundings and on the lookout for enthusiastic children entering the streets while trick-or-treating in their neighborhoods. Children should have reflective costumes or flashlights with them, and face paint is encouraged rather than masks so that kids have an easier time viewing their surroundings. Trick-or-treaters should remain on well-lit streets and always use the sidewalk. Residents passing out candy are asked to turn on their outside porch lights and maintain clear walkways that are free of obstructions or trip hazards.

Volunteer teams will also be on patrol throughout the City on October 30 and October 31 as part of Arson Watch. These teams will partner with the Police, Fire, and SCENIC Departments to watch for any suspicious activities and ensure our neighborhoods are safe throughout both nights.

“The Saginaw Police Department will be out in full force on October 31. Our main objective is the well-being of our citizens so that this is a memorable and enjoyable night for everyone in our community! We advise all citizens to drive slow and use extreme caution throughout the night.” -Robert Ruth, Chief of Police.
