SAGINAW’S COUNCILWOMAN BRENDA MOORE APPOINTED TO THE MML EXECUTIVE BOARD
The City of Saginaw is pleased to announce that Councilwoman Brenda Fay Moore has been appointed to the Michigan Municipal League (MML) Executive Board. The Michigan Municipal League serves the interest of municipalities through various services, programs and initiatives.
Councilwoman Moore first became involved with the Michigan Municipal League by attending conferences and training to understand her role as a new official after she was elected to City Council in 2013. Since then she has been elected to serve as the 2nd Vice President for the Michigan Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials. She has been elected to the Board for the Elected Official Academy (EOA). The Elected Official Academy is a four level program that recognizes educational and leadership accomplishments. Councilwoman Moore has graduated from Levels One and Two of the EOA.
Councilwoman Moore’s term of appointment to the Michigan Municipal League Executive Board is through 2019.
Brenda Moore commented "It is an honor to serve on the MML Executive Board, and to represent Saginaw at the State level. As an Executive Board member, I will oversee MML operations, policies, and programs that may benefit the City of Saginaw such as grants. My service on the MML Executive Board will allow Saginaw to have first-hand knowledge of the issues and opportunities at the State level. I look forward to finding out what other cities are doing that is working, and how they are doing it so that I can bring new ideas back to Saginaw."
"The City has been a long standing member and supporter of MML using their services for training of elected officials, research and information, wage/salary studies, executive searches, and most recently for our Placemaking initiative to engage the public in shaping our community assets. By having Councilwoman Moore on the Executive Board, the City of Saginaw’s interests will be well-served." Tim Morales
