In February 2012, the Office of Management and Budget assumed the responsibility of grants administration for the city, with the exception of Community Development Block Grants which are administered by staff housed in the Department of Community and Economic Development. All grant applications, awards, changes, etc. must be reviewed and approved by OMB staff. OMB works with the department to develop grant applications, comply with the requirements of the funding agency, monitor timelines, and maintains a centralized grant file for ease of access and for audit purposes. OMB also helps facilitate Council Communications, extension requests, and other correspondence.
