Right-of-Way Tree Trimming

Tree trimming activities are performed on City-owned streets located within the right-of-way to eliminate dead and dangerous branches.

Right-of-Way Tree Removal

Tree removal activities are completed on an as needed basis to eliminate dead, diseased or dangerous trees. Tree removal services are only performed on City owned streets. To report a dangerous tree in the right-of-way, please contact the City's Call Center at 989-399-1311. When reporting a dangerous tree, please indicate the nearest address.


The Streets Division provides inspection and evaluation of all city-owned parkway trees (between the curb and sidewalk). Tree trimming and hazardous tree removal services are provided for all parkway trees. The city takes great pride in being a Tree City.

Brush Collection

The City provides brush collection. Brush is defined as branches larger than 2 inches in diameter. One bundle of brush is allowed each week. Branches must be no longer than 4 feet in length and brush bundles can be no bigger than 3 feet thick. Please hold bundles together with twine, not wire or tape.
