Suspect in Home Invasion Captured During Search Warrant - Gun Recovered
On July 24, 2013 approximately 10pm Saginaw Police Patrol responded to a home that was invaded in the 1200 block of S. Michigan. During this home invasion a .22 caliber rifle was stolen from the residence. The suspect was not present when officers arrived. Two Saginaw city residents witnessed the incident and stepped forward with suspect information. This case was assigned to Det. Dean Kaufman who was able to obtain positive identification and he sought a search warrant for the suspect’s venue.
This morning at approximately 7:36am the Saginaw Police Department/Michigan State Police Detectives Major Crimes Unit with the assistance of the Saginaw County Emergency Services Team executed Det. Kaufman’s search warrant in the 700 block of Saginaw St. in the City of Saginaw. The suspect a 22 year old b/m was arrested on sight and the .22 caliber rifle that was stolen was recovered. The suspect was lodged in the Saginaw County Jail.
Again, this arrest and gun recovery could not have happened without good citizens stepping up and speaking out. Good job Saginaw!
