Capture of Murder Suspect Spearman

Approximately 4pm today Saginaw Police received a message confirming the arrest and detainment of Eric Spearman who is wanted in connection to the murder of Hoshea Pruitt. Hoshea Pruitt was murdered on June 11, 2013 on the east side of Saginaw. Spearman was captured in Memphis, Tennessee. Saginaw Police Detective Bureau along with the Michigan State Police had been working to locate Spearman over the last 5 days. Due to persistence of the Saginaw Police/Michigan State Police Detective Bureaus and fast action on the part of the MSP Third District Fugitive Team assisted by the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force Spearman will now be extradited back to Michigan.

With the help of multiple outside agencies, the Saginaw community, and the use of technology and social media the city of Saginaw will become a safer place to live and do business. We want the city of Saginaw to know and understand that we care and we are working around the clock capture these criminals and slow crime down.

This is a joint investigation between Saginaw Police Detectives and the Michigan State Police. Our departments are still interviewing witnesses regarding this case and the investigation is on-going.
