NEWS RELEASE - 08 June 2013
At 6:00am on Saturday June 8, 2013 the Saginaw Emergency Service Team (EST) comprised of officers from Saginaw, Saginaw Township, Bridgeport, and Frankenmuth police officers executed a search warrant at 3305 Norman St, Buena Vista Township. The Emergency Service Team was immediately available when called upon by Det. Michael Murphy to execute a search warrant for the homicide suspect in the Gordan Meador homicide, which took place on June 4, 2013.
After arriving at the venue the team hit the door with a ram and proceeded inside to make a successful arrest. No injuries were sustained to any officer or suspect during this arrest. The suspect will be lodged for homicide in the Saginaw County Jail. Suspect is a 33 year old black male whose name will not be released at this time.
Without the assistance and aid of the Saginaw County Prosecutors office, Saginaw Emergency Service Team, Michigan State Police Detective Bureau, and the citizens that have come forward in this case, and the hard work of SPD patrol and detectives this arrest may not have happened so quickly. Thank you Saginaw!
This is a joint investigation between Saginaw Police Detectives and the Michigan State Police. Our departments are still interviewing witnesses regarding this case and the investigation is on-going.
