  • INTERSECTION SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS FOR GALLAGHER ST. AT WILLIAMSON ST. AND CONGRESS AVE. AT COURT ST.

As part of the City of Saginaw’s Intersection Safety Improvement Project the intersections of Gallagher at Williamson, and Congress at Court will be reconstructed beginning Monday, May 12, 2008 with completion scheduled for Friday, June 27, 2008.

Gallagher St. and northbound Williamson St. will be closed to through traffic, but a detour route will be set up to guide motorists around the construction site; southbound Williamson St. will remain open to through traffic. The closures are necessary to facilitate the installation of a new traffic signal, and to remove the Wilkins St. roadway between Gallagher and Williamson streets.

In addition, Congress Ave. and Court St. will remain open to through traffic, although a lane closure will be set up in each direction of Court St. to allow for the installation of new traffic signal equipment, the removal of the existing boulevard and the installation of designated left turn lanes onto Congress Ave.

Because these safety projects will take place simultaneously there will be periods of intermittent inactivity at both locations. The City of Saginaw asks residents to please be patient while the work is in progress, and also urges motorists to seek alternate routes whenever possible.

  • JEFFERSON AVE. ROAD CLOSURE BETWEEN FITZHUGH AND JOHNSON ON TUESDAY, MAY 6, 2008

Jefferson will be closed to through traffic, but a detour route will be set up to guide motorists around the site, you may want to seek an alternate route to avoid traffic backups.

The City of Saginaw asks motorists to please be patient while the work is in progress and to drive safely.

  • WOODBRIDGE ST. ROAD CONSTRUCTION FROM BROCKWAY ST. TO  HOUGHTON AVE. (See Detour Map)

Reconstruction of Woodbridge St., between Brockway St. and Houghton Ave., will begin Monday, April 21, 2008. The reconstruction project will take place in two phases:

Phase 1: Brockway St. to Court St. (April 21, 2008 - October 2008)
Phase 2: Court St. to Houghton Ave. (April 20, 2009 - October 2009)

During Phase I of reconstruction, Woodbridge St. will be closed to through traffic; however, traffic will be maintained within the project limits through the intersections of Brockway, Mackinaw and Court. Please follow the detour route that will be set-up to guide motorists around the construction site.

The City of Saginaw asks residents and motorists in the area to be patient while the work is in progress and to please drive safely.

  • N. OAKLEY STREET CLOSURE AT REMINGTON AVE. SEPTEMBER, 2006 UNTIL JUNE 2008

The City of Saginaw will temporarily close N. Oakley St. at its intersection with Remington Ave. beginning September 5, 2006 until June 2008.

The south end of N. Oakley St. will be closed to through traffic at Remington Ave. but will remain open on the north end at its intersection with Houghton Ave. Upon completion of the new Handley PCAT School, the closure on N.
