Traffic Studies
The Traffic Engineering Department does all of the Studies to determine whether a change in traffic Control is needed. There are four types of traffic studies:
- Intersection Control - formal request for a yield sign, stop sign, or traffic signal installed at a specific location
- Speed Study - studies the speed of motorists traveling in the area of concern; data submitted to Police Dept.
- Sight Obstruction - documents corner clearance obstructions; notifies and enforces ordinance
- Parking Study - polls and documents residents affected by establishing or abolishing parking regulations
All of the traffic studies require a written request specifying the location and type of study to be performed. These studies are done in the order they are received.
