SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL BILL

The solid waste disposal bill is a separate special assessment that is billed once every year.

The billing will be mailed in the fall, September or October. It is due 30 days from the billed date. The solid waste disposal bill is printed on the same form as your July and December property tax bill.

The solid waste disposal bill pays for special trash pickup that is placed at the curb on your trash collection day. Stoves, refrigerators, couches, etc. Every household in the City of Saginaw will receive this bill. A single family home is billed $50.00, multiple units are billed at $50.00 per unit.

If not paid on/or before the due date (which is stated on the billing) a 10% ($5.00) late fee will be added. The City of Saginaw does not send out late notices. In February of the next year the City Clerk's office will mail out a notice advising you of a hearing conducted by the City Council if you dispute this bill. It will also advise you that if you do not dispute this billing it can still be paid at the City Treasurer's office.

If this billing is not paid, it will be added to your July (summer) property tax bill as a special assessment.

Any questions on the services provided and/or billing of this special assessment, please contact us at (989) 759-1440, or 759-1463.
