Employee Resource Service -
Employee Assistance Program

What is the Employee Resource Service - Employee Assistance Program?

The Employee Resource Service - Employee Assistance Program (ERS-EAP) is a benefit provided by your employer to help you and your family meet behavioral health needs through counseling services. Certified counselors are experienced in helping individuals and families with a variety of problems or concerns including: stress management, conflict resolution, individual or family distress, alcohol or drug use problems, sexual assault, adoption information, problem pregnancy, eldercare, gambling problems, financial and other issues that impact your work and personal life and/or may affect your work performance.

How does it Work?

When problems become overwhelming, the ERS-EA may help you sort things out or connect you with valuable resources that you do not know about or do not have the time or energy to find on your own. Simply contact your ERS-EAP consultant by phone. The sooner you take action, the more manageable the problem will be.

Two ways of accessing ERS-EAP services are:

Self-Referral

You may access your ERS-EAP consultant by calling (989) 790-8766 during regular business hours Monday through Friday. An appointment is offered within 72 hours of your initial call. Appointments are arranged at times that will be as convenient as possible for you. In the event of an after hour traumatic work related issue, your supervisor may access your ERS-EAP consultant through our answering service.

Supervisory Referral

Job Performance Related Issues

At times, a supervisor may talk with an employee about a work performance problem and mandate the ERS-EAP referral. If a referral to the ERS-EAP is made based on job performance, the ERS-EAP consultant will share with your employer the following information:

  1. Whether or not the employee has contacted the ERS-EAP consultant
  2. Whether a mutually agreed upon service plan has been made
  3. Whether goals have been established

COST:

Your employer has designated the number of sessions available to you, your spouse, and dependants as a paid benefit.

CONFIDENTIALITY:

When you seek services through the ERS-EAP, you rights are protected to the extent allowed by state and federal regulations.
