  • NOTICE TO CUT & DESTROY ALL NOXIOUS WEEDS (Posted March 9, 2009)

    It shall be the duty of each owner, possessor or occupier of land, and every person having charge of any land within the City to cut or remove and destroy all noxious weeds on or before the first Monday in May of each year.

    If weeds are not cut by the first Monday in May, and as often thereafter as necessary, the City may enter upon the land and cause all such weeds to be cut down and destroyed.

    Weed growth on lots adjacent to residential uses may not exceed nine inches.  Weed growth on lots adjacent to non-residential property may not exceed nine inches.  Weed growth in excess of these limits will be caused for the City to enter private land and cause such weeds to be cut down and destroyed.  All expenses of such cutting or destroying, including any and all costs incurred in the removal or relocation of debris, junk or other miscellaneous obstructions which would be necessary or convenient to carrying out the requirements shall be paid by the owner of such land plus an administrative service charge per parcel, per cutting or destroying.

  • 2009 SINGLE LOT SPECIAL ASSESSMENT TAX ROLL PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE (Posted February 4, 2009)

    Pursuant to Title III, Administration, Chapter 33, "Taxation and Assessment," Section 33.27, Assessment Roll Hearing and Confirmation, City of Saginaw Code of Ordinances, O-1, notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Saginaw, Michigan, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2009, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall and review the following single lot special assessment rolls:

    • Nuisances (Trash Removal/Yard Cleanup, Weed/Grass Cutting, Wrecker Service/Vehicle Removal)

    • Sewer Connections & Replacements

    • Solid Waste Disposal Annual Fee

    • Environmental Compliance

    • Environmental Fees & Surcharges

    • Environmental Tests/Samples/Inspections/Adm. Fees

    Anyone objecting to such an assessment may appear in person at the hearing to protest or may file an objection in writing with the City Clerk prior to the close of said hearing, which written objection shall specify in what respect the objection is made.  Postmark date will not be honored and no phone call objections will be accepted.

    An appearance and protest at the hearing in this assessment proceeding is required in order to appeal the amount of the special assessment to the Michigan State Tax Tribunal.  Such appeal must be submitted within 30 days of the City Council having approved the single lot special assessment tax roll.  The single lot special assessment rolls are on file in the office of the City Clerk and are available for inspection during regular office hours up to the time of the hearing.

  • ADDRESS CHANGES - It is the responsibility of the citizen to contact the appropriate City departments to notify them of an address change. The citizen will be responsible for any billing(s) not received as a result of their failure to notify.

  • RENTAL PROPERTIES - City Ordinance requires all rental properties to be registered by the landlord. If you have any questions regarding whether a rental property has been properly registered, please call the City Clerk's office at 759-1480.
