ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF SAGINAW established by 1973 PA 338, as amended by PA 175, and Administrative Code. Established to alleviate and prevent conditions of unemployment, to assist and retain local industries and commercial enterprises, to strengthen and revitalize the economy of the City and provide means and methods for encouraging and assisting industrial and commercial enterprises in locating and expanding in the City. Consists of nine (9) members appointed by Mayor with Council consent, for 6-year overlapping terms. Additional two members from specific project plan area are appointed to serve until completion or abandonment of project. Members must be residents of the City of Saginaw. No more than three members can be employees or officers of the City.
