Birth & Death Certificates
Q - How do I get a copy of a birth certificate or death certificate?
A - The Saginaw County Clerks Office is the Registrar of Vital Records including birth, death and marriage certificates. You can access their website at http://www.saginawcounty.com/clerk

Q - How do I get information about job openings with the City of Saginaw?
A - You can do one of the following:

- View job postings and pick up applications at City Hall in the Office of Employee Services, 2nd Floor.
Demolition of Property
Q - There is an abandoned building on my street. What should I do to have it demolished?
A - Call (989) 399-1311 to file a complaint with the City's Call Center. An inspector will then come out to look at the property to determine if the property qualifies as a Dangerous Building. Homes
Q - Do I need an inspection to Sell my home?
A - No, not from the City, you can however hire an outside home inspection company, it is encouraged at both ends for the seller and the buyer.
Q - I want to rent my house. What do I need to do?
A - First fill out the Non-Owner Occupied Dwellining Registration Application and return it to the City Clerk's Office with your filing fee. An inspector will contact you to look at your property and determine if it is in condition to be rented.
Permits
Q - What permits do I need to make repairs or changes to my home?
A -The City of Saginaw has four types of permits that must be pulled for different types of construction on homes:
- Building permits are required for: roofs, siding, windows if the size is being changed or if walls are being moved.
- Electrical - adding circuits
- Mechanical - adding Air Conditioning or water heaters
- Plumbing - adding new plumbing, or relocating

Parking Tickets
Q - Where can I go to pay my parking tickets?
A - All parking tickets are payable at the Treasurer's Office in City Hall, hours M-F 9:00 am until 4:00 pm.

Real Property Information
Q - How do I determine who owns a particular piece of property?
A - Use the City's SONAR site to look up information about properties including ownership, taxes, property values, and utilities
Rubbish
Q - I recently moved to the area. When is my regular garbage pick-up?
A - Please check the Refuse Collection Service Guide for collection days and service guidelines.
Streetlights
Q - Who should I contact about a streetlight that is out in my neighborhood?
A - Please contact the Engineering Department at (989) 759-1670.
Taxes
Q - When do I pay my property taxes?
A - Property taxes are billed twice a year, winter and summer. Summer taxes, billed July 1 must be paid in full by July 31 and winter taxes, billed December 1, must be paid by December 31. All delinquent Property Taxes are passed to Saginaw County after March 1 and must be paid to the County Treasurer at (989) 790-5225.
Q - Where do I get Saginaw Income Tax Forms?
A - You can get Income Tax Forms three ways:
- Online at http://www.saginaw-mi.com/Government/Departments/Finance/IncomeTax/index.php or
- Pick up at City Hall, Hoyt Library, and Butman Fish Library or
- Call (989) 759-1650.

Q - How do I get a stop sign replaced?

Trees
Q - I need a tree cut down. Who can help me?
A - If the tree is on City Property,between the street and the sidewalk, please contact the City Call Center at (989) 399-1311. If the tree is on private property, the property owner should contact a tree service company.

Q - Where can an individual get financial assistance for payment of utility bills?

Weeds & Vacant Lots
Q - The vacant lot near my house need to be cut. What should I do?
A - Contact the City Call Center at (989) 399-1311 to add the property to the Weed Abatement Cut list.
